Have Every Tool You Need to Be Able to Move and Live in Thailand Successfully

Hello friend,

My name is Harvie, I’m a successful UK expat who has been living in Thailand since 2012.

You’ve stumbled across my blog which has been visited by more than 5.2 million individuals since launch.

If you asked me how many guys lost their virginity, cheated on their wives or realized they were gay because of my website – Icouldn’t tell you, but I’d assume A LOT.

During my 7 years in Thailand I’ve been interviewed by the Bangkok Post and considered by many as an authority figure on living in Thailand as a male expat, which I’m embracing with open arms.

When I decided to move to Thailand 7 years ago – I was scared.

Actually I was more than scared, I was shitting myself.

I was worried about many things such as:

  • How would I stay long-term on tourist visas?
  • How would I support myself? I came to Thailand with $9,000~ and no stable income.
  • What is the process of moving from one country to another?
  • If a girl shows interest in me, does that means she actually likes me or is she after my money?

I even worried about how I would setup the Internet in my apartment, where to buy UK cereal or how I’d make friends.

I can’t remember a time in my life where I felt more anxiety and fear than moving to Thailand.

On top of all that, I had friends and family telling me to get a job (talk about shit family and friends), and that moving to Thailand will only end badly.

If I moved to Thailand and had to return a year or two later, they were going to say I told you so.

I know first hand how daunting it can appear to make the move to Thailand, I’ve walked the walk.

But the truth is moving to Thailand isn’t hard at all when you have a plan and follow through with that plan. Then it’s EASY and the best life experience you’ll ever have. Read my blog if you don’t believe me.

When I got here  I was only spending $700 per month as I had to make $9,000 last as long as I could while figuring out how to make money here.

Finding good friends was hard, and learning the importance of a routine that isn’t just focused around drinking and sleeping with girls took a while to understand.

Do you know why people go broke, lose their money to Thai girls, become addicted to hookers or are 35 and barely make any money? It’s because they didn’t have accountability and were left to their own devices in Thailand.

I’m one of the lucky ones but a quick Google will show you pages of horror stories of expats that went broke or worse.

It would have been freaking great if there was an online community I could have joined that supported me with my initial move to Thailand. And once in Thailand let me meet like-minded people, taught me how to setup a Thai bank account, get 50% off top restaurants using food apps, receive a discount on movie tickets and negotiate apartment contracts so I’d not be scammed out of my deposit or overpay.

There still isn’t one today – and it’s why I have decided to create the AFB Thailand Nomad Community.

The community is for anyone who is thinking about moving to Thailand (or Asia) and needs help, and for those of you are already here but are struggling to settle in, or cannot successful sustain yourself here long-term without help. If you’re a western expat who is crushing life, you’d have no reason to join this community unless you wanted to help others, or make friends.

For those of you thinking of moving here my online community will provide:

Guidance on how to budget for your move to Thailand whether you plan to visit for 6 months or 6 years.

Where to stay between Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Chang Mai or another country based on what you’re looking to achieve with your life-changing move. Want love? A way to make money? To fuck girls? Running? Let’s work out where you need to be.

We’ll show how to navigate the city, which gyms, co-working spaces, massages, restaurants and nightlife spots you should be heading.

And most importantly the group is here to support you, whether that’s to overcome the fear of traveling alone to a new country, quitting your desk job or [insert your fear here].

Once here, the community will show you how to:

  • Rent a condo without overpaying or being scammed
  • Get a Thai bank account, sim-card and driver’s license
  • find a nice Thai girlfriend and avoid traps most western men fall for
  • correctly plan your visa runs to minimize the chance of rejection when you return to Thailand
  • And much more

I know many of you would love to move to Thailand but aren’t quite sure how, or are scared to make the jump at 20, 30, 40, 50 or even 60 years old because something is holding you back.

The aim of my group is to smoothen your worries by helping you at every step of your journey by answering questions and giving you realistic advice. If an idiot like me can move here and have the time of their life – anybody can.

AFB Thailand Nomad Community will also be a cool place to make friends…I hope.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this group for?

This group is for anyone who wants to move to Thailand and anyone who is currently living in Thailand.

The mission of the group is to provide support and advice for living in Thailand.

Do I need to provide you with any personal information?

The community is hosted on Slack and to join I’ll only need your email address. If you want to keep anonymous you can create a new email address and give me that. You will be invited to the group within 24 hours of making payment.

I’m only visiting Thailand for a few months, is this group useful to me?

Me and the group will give you advice on how to plan your trip, where to stay, how to budget, meet girls and so on. Any question you have – they will be answered.

Harvie, I did not see you mention anything about partying and meeting lots of girls?

That’s a great observation.

I want this to be a mature community of people who are looking at the bigger picture – which is their life and future.

There will be dedicated channels for dating, meeting girls, where to get the best massages and so on.

But the emphasize of this community is to help people move to Thailand successfully.

I don’t want to move to Thailand, but another country in Asia, is this group of use to me?

I’ve visited almost every country in Asia and between me and the community we’ll be able to provide you with advice and tips. However the focus of the group will be on Thailand and very niche questions about countries outside of Thailand will be answered with more abstract answers.

How does the refund work?

There is no refund policy. You join this group to ask as many questions as you like to help plan your trip or move to Thailand. If you have questions and need help, this group will be of great value to you – simple as that.

Why the $29 fee?

The reason life-time membership is $29 is to qualify serious expats from the time-wasters.

I really want this community to of value.

If I priced membership $12 or less, there are two issues:

1. Too many people are in the group, this will depersonalize the community experience
2. The low entry fee will attract people who aren’t serious and may potentially spam or derail chats

If you think the price is too high then it is, and this group is not for you.

Please note the price may increase at any time.

Do we get anything extra asides from the membership?

If you join my Membership group you’ll get my Ebook on how to make money online as a Freelancer in Thailand which currently sells on Amazon for $7.

You’ll also get 10% off all packages at Bangkok Helper, she is a one-woman business who helps expats relocate to Thailand by setting you up with an apartment, gym, office space and anything else you may need in regards to education visas.
