I guess the fact that I am aware of myself contemplating the fact reduces the possibility somewhat. That&#8217;s still not reassuring though.<\/p>\n<p>I started getting these thoughts when my friends from England arrived a few weeks ago. I took them to Thermae, a freelancer <a href=\"https:\/\/afarangabroad.com\/ru\/2015\/03\/\u0442\u0430\u0439\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0435-\u043f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0442\u0443\u0442\u043a\u0438\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thai hooker<\/a> bar. All the girls inside are freelancers and come and go as they please. Freelancers stand near the wall in a line and must wait for a guy to approach them. They will never approach you.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a bit of weird place and I thought I&#8217;d show my mates as you don&#8217;t get this kind of stuff back home.<\/p>\n<p>As we entered the bar at 11pm on a creepy Sunday evening, the place was packed to the gills with girls, Japanese expats who don&#8217;t even lift and a few middle aged farangs in Hawaiian shirts.<\/p>\n<p>We got ourselves a beer each (110 baht) and took up a vantage point.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k26MHPFXD44?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One of my friends was a little taken back by the whole thing and said how crazy it was. I told him to me, this is totally normal. I said if I walked into <a href=\"https:\/\/afarangabroad.com\/ru\/2015\/01\/\u043d\u0438\u043a\u043e\u0433\u0434\u0430-\u043d\u0435-\u043f\u043e\u0441\u0435\u0449\u0430\u0439\u0442\u0435-\u043a\u043e\u0432\u0431\u043e\u0439\u0441\u043a\u0443\u044e-\u043f\u043b\u043e\u0449\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nana Entertainment Plaza<\/a>, I&#8217;m pretty much expecting a <a href=\"https:\/\/afarangabroad.com\/ru\/\u043b\u0435\u0434\u0438\u0431\u043e\u0438-\u043d\u0430-\u043f\u0445\u0443\u043a\u0435\u0442\u0435\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u0422\u0430\u0439\u0441\u043a\u0430\u044f \u043b\u0435\u0434\u0438\u0431\u043e\u0439<\/a> to grab my hand, arm or my smeggy penis if I walk on the second floor.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I&#8217;d be shocked if this didn&#8217;t happen. To me this is all normal and I don&#8217;t even bat an eyelid anymore.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>But is it normal?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>At first I thought this is Asia, the culture is different and the idea of what&#8217;s normal here is totally different to the England. But is it really?<\/p>\n<p>Many consider Soi Cowboy, Nana, Patpong and <a href=\"https:\/\/afarangabroad.com\/ru\/pattaya-girls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u041f\u0430\u0442\u0442\u0430\u0439\u044f<\/a> as a man&#8217;s fantasy land where anything can happen.
