A few weeks ago I got a message from a Thai girl telling me my blog is the best thing on the inter-webz since Google and most of what I say is true. Well no shit, this isn’t the best Thailand travel blog for no reason. Since I’m getting lazy to write content myself these days I went ahead and asked a Thai girl questions I think the farang would like to know.

You should prepare yourself before before you go any further, it is around 5,300 words long, with no edits from me! It’s actually a pretty good read and gives the newbie visiting Thailand some knowledgeable and ideas on how Thai culture and ideals.The interview talks about drugs, bar girls, farang guys, relationships, why Thais don’t like Indian, Turkish or black men.

Can you tell us a little bit about your self?
I’m a native Thai who live in Thailand ever since I was born. I just graduated a bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering. Now I’m waiting for the open semester on August for study my master degree.
In my leisure time, I like to sit on my favorite sofa watching television and make crochet dolls at the same time which I found thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable. and the doll can be sold afterward. Moreover I love reading books.
I live in Kamphaengphet which is about 5-6 hours by car far from Bangkok or 358 kilometers. This province is one of a countryside province of Thailand. I live in the capital of province I can say here is a very peaceful province; no tall building, no traffic jam, you will never experience a crowd like in Bangkok. What I like the most about my province is the people. People here are very kind and friendly. They have a generous mind and big smile. The main career in this province is farmer. They plant many kind of plant; rices, cassava, sugar cane, taroes, dragon fruits, oranges, mangoes, and the most famous agriculture product are bananas. Thailand has a lot variety of bananas, the famous bananas here literally translate is egg bananas.
The other thing that I like about my province is culture and Nature. When the civilization does not come here much, the old traditional festivals are still in held. And some believe about ghost rite in old people. Here is full of forest and nature, we have 3 national park located in this small province. Each park are full of nature, trees, waterfalls, wild animals, and camping area.
What is your profession in Thailand and how much do you earn per month?
My profession is student. And student doesn’t get paid from studying. But I am not from the rich family so I have been working with a part time job since 2010. I use to work in many type of job. I use to be a home tutor but I quite it because of the long hour I have to travel. I start with making crochet dolls made to order doll and selling crochet patterns. Moreover I do a trivial jobs like decorated the board, help my adviser prepare power point, being a department webmaster for extra money. And lately I do a translated job too; I translate many things, first some document from my acquaintance, banners, text, crochet pattern. The income per month is about 5,000-6,000 depending on how much I work.

About working in Thailand, it is not true that the well-paid jobs are available only in Bangkok. There are many international companies in the North of Thailand. They would be willing to pay you a huge salary if you’re experienced and qualified for a job…

First of all I will like to thank u for your blog it contain good information only thing I will like to mention is u said that u heard that Indians have many wives its all rubbish on Muslims communities have many wives not Hindu this things mostly happens in middle east not Indian another thing u mentioned is about their body odour i don’t know what kind of men u smelled but it will be because of humidity he or she will be sweating because of hot teamprature another than that u r blog is good and may i know ur name or contact me on Facebook
Maddy, you should read between the lines. This isn’t just about how many wives Indians have or don’t have. Most Thai girls just aren’t attracted to Indians. It’s as simple as that. And the cultures are very, very different. Indians (both Hindus and Muslims) take their religion very, very seriously. They also do things that are culturally not acceptable in Thailand, and their views toward women are not progressive for the most part.
Also, not everyone on the skytrain smells – just the Indians and Arabs. Thais and other Asians and farangs don’t smell because they take better care of themselves.
Also, Indian fashion is really behind Bangkok. Indian men hold hands with each other… just lots of weird stuff that Thai girls do not like.
Sounds like a very socially aware young lady. I went to Thailand for the first time a few weeks ago, it’s an incredibly nice country from my experience. I stayed in Bangkok for a short while then went down to Koh Tao. Beautiful island. Beautiful people. My parents are from Indian Sub Continent, but I live in England – there’s certainly no smell from me and nor do i have several wives!! But those still in the home country – i tend to avoid them people too because its true they haven’t advanced. The men holding hands thing is still true – i went there last year.. Anyway, forget them.
I’m really looking forward to returning to Thailand as soon as I can. I will definitely try to mingle with Thai girls, I would love a nice Thai girl who can speak English too for company during my travels.

Thai people just love white skin, this is called “racism” the fact that she believes otherwise reaffirms exactly what the world believes about thais – they are dumb and will remain dumb for generations
I am not sure this makes Thai people racist. I prefer lighter skin girls too, does this make me a racist?
Preference and Racism are two different things. Liking a lighter skin women over a darker skin women is your preference and that does not make you a racist. A racist is someone that goes beyond preferences in that their dislikes lead to hating a person because of the color of their skin or religious beliefs and worse with that hatred they want to do mental or physical harm to those people they hate.
People with preferences are usually very stable people in life. Racist are mentally unstable people and incapable of living in harmony with the people they hate or anyone else that is not exactly like them – a Racist.
Indian (North) prefers white too. the early arrivals on the sub continent usually living in the south are usually black and being treated worse. Large groups of indians are the worst when it comes to racism. Check the blood lines, if not within a considered and compatible group, they are as bad as muslims.
I think it’s only the Indians who are responsible for such a negative mindset towards Indians. I am also an Indian who has travelled Thailand many a times and I agree to a extend regarding the “Smell”, because of our spicy food we tend to smell which others can make out not us and above that many still doesn’t use deodorants. But to be very frank if you maintain basic hygiene and have extra money to float things are quite easy in Thailand. If your looking for real girlfriends then Indians will struggle, I am not saying everyone but yes most of the Indian Tourist who visit Thailand are middle class with typical Indian mindset which doesn’t make them attractive towards Thai women’s. Yes it matters how you look, your skin colour and your way of talking, if you fits in all this aspects Thai girls are easy to hang out with or if I may say easier to get laid. I did it many a times and I don’t see why others can’t.
Thailand is not the land of one same race but of various races, skin colors and backgrounds, various dialects.

मुझे बारगर्ल्स के बारे में उनकी भावनाओं से असहमत होना पड़ेगा। मेरी गर्लफ्रेंड एक मध्यम वर्गीय थाई परिवार से आती है, वह अब यूके में पढ़ती है और जब मैंने बारगर्ल्स के बारे में बात की तो उसने तुरंत मेरी बात काट दी और कहा कि वे बदमाश और सबसे घटिया हैं।
मैं उसके दोस्तों को अच्छी तरह से जानता हूँ (वे सभी 20 की उम्र के हैं, जैसे मैं हूँ) और हम अक्सर थोंग लोर और आरसीए जैसी जगहों पर पार्टी करते हैं, कभी-कभी इस तरह की लड़कियों को देखते हैं और मैं आपको आश्वस्त कर सकता हूँ कि इन लोगों को वैसे ही देखा जाता है जैसे हम यहाँ पश्चिम में वेश्याओं को निराशा और भय के साथ देखते हैं। मेरा सुझाव है कि यह लेख लिखने वाली लड़की एक गरीब, ग्रामीण क्षेत्र से है और बार गर्ल्स के साथ फरांग को देखने की आदी है। मेरा यह भी सुझाव है कि यदि आप एक मध्यम वर्ग के बैंकॉकियन हैं तो आपको इन लोगों के बारे में कोई अनुभव या सकारात्मकता नहीं होगी, वास्तव में मेरी GF के साथ एक त्वरित जाँच यह स्पष्ट करती है।
रिकार्ड के लिए बता दूं कि मैंने स्वयं काउबॉय और नाना में कई रातें बिताई हैं।

मैं भारतीयों के बारे में उनकी कही बात से सहमत हूँ कि वे कभी-कभी बदबूदार होते हैं, लेकिन मुझे यह भी कहना होगा कि थाई महिलाओं के मुँह से भी अक्सर बदबू आती है क्योंकि वे भी मसालेदार खाना खाती हैं। यह कोई आम बात नहीं है, यह सिर्फ़ कुछ लोगों के साथ होता है।
मैं स्वीडन से हूँ और मैं वहाँ सिर्फ़ 2 बार गया हूँ (2013, 2014)। इस साल अभी नहीं, शायद इस साल के अंत में जाऊँगा। लेकिन मुझे यह देश और यहाँ का खाना, लड़कियाँ और आस-पास का माहौल बहुत पसंद है। यह खूबसूरत है!
उपरोक्त में से कोई भी बात मेरे लिए सीधे तौर पर कोई नई बात नहीं है, लेकिन अपडेट हमेशा अच्छा रहता है और कभी-कभी कुछ न कुछ सीखने को मिलता है।

यह पढ़ना अच्छा था - वह बुद्धिमान और राय रखने वाली है और इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि ऐसी कई थाई महिलाएं हैं - हम मुख्य रूप से केवल सोने की खोज करने वालों के बारे में ही क्यों सुनते हैं?
क्योंकि आमतौर पर यही एकमात्र प्रकार की थाई लड़कियां हैं जिन्हें फ़रंग लोग देख पाते हैं।
अच्छा लेख। लड़की स्पष्ट रूप से लो सो है, हाई सो नहीं, मुश्किल से निम्न मध्यम वर्ग की है। वित्त में एमबीए के साथ एक अमीर परिवार से 12 साल थाईलैंड में रहा। हम्म्म... क्योंकि मैं हाई सो हूँ और शिक्षित हूँ, मेरे कई थाई हाय सो दोस्त हैं, जिनमें राजनेता, होटल मालिक, सोने की दुकान के मालिक आदि शामिल हैं। मेरे पास गरीब थाई दोस्त भी हैं जो जय दी हैं। थाईलैंड और इसके विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के साथ-साथ विदेशियों के बारे में जो कुछ भी कहा जाता है, वह सच है। मेरे लिए, यह थाई संस्कृति, मानसिकता, मानसिकता आदि को स्वीकार करने का सवाल है। मेरे लिए, वे बहुत पिछड़ी सोच वाले मूर्ख अज्ञानी लोग हैं। मैं एक अमीर थाई भी नहीं बनना चाहता। मैं भ्रष्ट अमीर थाई के बजाय पेशेवर फरांग बनना पसंद करता हूँ। मैं वास्तविक और अच्छे मूल्यों को अपनाना पसंद करता हूँ, जो बहुत से न्यायप्रिय थाई लोगों के पास नहीं हैं। आजकल बौद्ध धर्म या लोगों की तुलना में पैसे, शक्ति और छवि की परवाह अधिक है। लेकिन यह एक गरीब, सस्ता और गर्म देश है, इसलिए मुझे यह पसंद है, क्योंकि मैं एक राजा की तरह रहता हूँ। बस इतना ही है। वे मेरा पैसा चाहते हैं और मैं उनकी जीवनशैली चाहता हूँ। इसलिए हम साथ-साथ रहते हैं। दूसरों के यहाँ होने के अपने कारण हो सकते हैं। मैं उनकी मानसिकता या मूल्यों को कभी स्वीकार नहीं कर सकता।
यह सच था जब उसने कुछ कहा कि थाईलैंड में यात्रा के दौरान कम समय में सही व्यक्ति को ढूंढना असंभव है। आपके लिए संभावित लड़कियों में से अधिकांश दिन के दौरान काम करेंगी। मेरा मतलब है कि अगर आप रात के समय काम करने वाली लड़की नहीं ढूंढना चाहते हैं। और दूसरा सुझाव है कि ट्रैवल एजेंसी के साथ काम करने वाली लड़कियां संचार के लिए बहुत अच्छी होती हैं क्योंकि वे हर रोज़ विदेशियों से बात करती हैं। जैसे मैं हूँ। कभी-कभी आपको अपनी रुचियों को और अधिक रोमांचक बनाने के लिए कुछ शिक्षित व्यक्ति खोजने पड़ते हैं। सिर्फ़ यही कारण नहीं है कि आप खुद को जीवन और रिश्तों के बराबर मूल्य में साझा करेंगे।
लगता है कि आप एक सुशिक्षित और स्वतंत्र सोच वाली महिला हैं। आप बहुत अच्छी हैं 🙂 मैंने 2005 में थाईलैंड में काम किया था और उस दौरान मेरा अनुभव बहुत अच्छा रहा। मैंने कुछ लड़कियों के साथ काम किया जो बार में काम करती थीं और मुझे वे बहुत अच्छी महिलाएँ लगीं। मुझे इस बारे में भी काफ़ी जानकारी मिली कि थाई लोग विदेशियों को किस तरह देखते हैं और मैंने एक थाई सज्जन के साथ संबंध भी बनाए। थाई लोगों में आम तौर पर बहुत मज़बूत सांस्कृतिक मान्यताएँ और पारिवारिक मूल्य होते हैं। जैसा कि इस महिला ने बताया, पारिवारिक जीवन की संरचना में पारिवारिक मूल्यों और मानदंडों की दृढ़ता से पहचान की जाती है, यानी शादी के बाद एक महिला का किसी दूसरे पुरुष के साथ न सोना। मैं यह नहीं कहूँगा कि थाई लोग नस्लवादी हैं, लेकिन उनमें से कुछ लोग कुछ समूहों, यानी अश्वेत लोगों के बारे में काफ़ी आलोचनात्मक हैं। मुझे याद है कि एक बार मैं अपने एक अश्वेत दोस्त के साथ एक रेस्तराँ में गया था और थाई लोग लगातार मुझे घूर रहे थे और मेरे बारे में बात कर रहे थे। वे सिर्फ़ इसलिए कुछ काफ़ी नकारात्मक बातें कह रहे थे क्योंकि मैं एक अश्वेत व्यक्ति के साथ था। मुझे लगता है कि इसकी वजह यह है कि वे अश्वेत और कुछ अन्य जातीय समूहों से थोड़ा सावधान रहते हैं। उनमें निश्चित रूप से गोरी त्वचा की समस्या होती है और मेरे दोस्त मुझे धूप सेंकने के लिए डांटते थे!!
