So what is my point in writing this article? I have heard many stories about middle aged farang men who fell in love with Isaan girls and all the prerogatives that come with being in a relationship with them.
Isaan Girls 101
Just a little bit of information to those who do not know. Isaan is a province located in the north eastern part of Thailand and well, women from there are called Isaan women.
They are shunned away from the country because of the region where they are born in and are considered as a second class citizen as well. So by nature, they actually don’t stand a chance against other Thais who are born and raised in the city or from wealthy families.

Some Isaan girls have worked in a go go bar (see the relation on how they meet farangs) and are always on the prey for foreigners or Westerners because they think of them as someone with big, fat pocket.
Poverty usually drives these women to work as Тайские проститутки and due to lack of education and their entire family depending on them; it would drive them to sell their bodies to men for some quick cash and if they get lucky, meet a farang who could give them money on a monthly basis.

You are right about issan girls after money. I met a very pretty girl in a small bar on second road in Pattaya a few years ago her name was Jeab. We dated several times then she left her work there to spend time with me. I was giving her some money so she could take care of her two kids and herself. I was working in Australia 3 on 3 off so I could fly back to be with her quite a lot. I was sending her money (not a lot) every month by then. I took her travelling with me around Thailand and even to Bali once. We were pretty tight as a couple after 3 years and I considered her my best friend. We were even married in a little sacred ceremony in Maenam in Ko Samui. Little did I know she was dating another man and possibly more men, behind my back. I found out on Facebook with photos of the guy with her together and she was even wearing the clothes I had bought her. I never heard from her again after that trip to Samui. She cancelled her phone number and email account so I couldnt contact her and disappeared off the radar. No doubt the money I was sending her wasn’t enough.
Ouch, yeah you need to be careful, best not to meet girls in beer bars or anything like that to be safe.

A lot of Isaan girls get tarred with the same brush. Of course the bar girls from Isaan that work in Pattaya and Phuket and Bangkok are hard women. That have to be to survive. Who can blame them for trying to get as much money for there families back home as they can. I know women from Isaan that are the most lovely sweet women you could ever wish to set and I would have them any day over the selfish, rude and spoilt western women I have encountered the bet part of my time in earth.
Money? Isnt that what we all want? When Thailand pays average salary 300 baht who can blame them, it’s the farangs that are being played and good on those girls for earning money.
I’ve been with my Issan girl for 5 months, luckily I work in Thailand so have seen really what she is like. Pisses all over western women, really cares for my health, wants me to eat healthy, shares a bath with me, sits on my knee and talks a lot. Cooks for me, And yes the sex is amazing, really is. But it’s her smile that wins every time. Is she scamming me for money, who knows, but always keep some of your heart back for yourself. And keep all your money in your home country / bank, and dont tell them everything about your business. I also met her family so think she could be genuine, but still being very cautious.
And with all that in mind, what’s the difference with Western women? Most are driven by money, or at least a nice quality life, arent we all? Isn’t that the same as Issan girls? A chance in life to have something better. And let’s not forget buddhism who ingrains respect for your parents, and taking care of them when they are old and wanting the best for their children. No different to Westerners.

I met my Thai wife when I was 21 (together for 20 years now) on a Thailand stopover for R & R whilst on an Asia deployment… Got married 8 months later and she knew from the start I didn’t have money. She’s not from Isaan luckily but from the North.
Now, most of what’s written here is true. My wife and I know quite a lot of Thai ladies locally (not living in LOS) and most are from the place the article is written about. And I can say that most are a train wreck waiting to happen. I have even been told directly by some of them that it’s all about money and that they usually have several guys on the go at any one time and cashing in.
The funny thing is that it’s like most of them have split personalities from what I’ve seen. They can be reserved and traditional and then totally crazy to the point of violence. They don’t know how to handle money and that is the root of all problems. Once they and their families become dependent on financial support they need more and more and will do just about anything to get it. You may find this harsh but, most Thais aren’t that well educated and it shows. Although, I think things are changing slowly.
If you’re just looking for a good time and have a bit of cash to burn and know how to avoid the traps then go for it.

This website is a classic representation of what everyone hates about foreigners in Asian. Every country has omen, and men, who are unfaithful. My own experience of an Isaan lover is wonderful. She is married with a daughter. Her family lives in Thailand. Your rationale is spot on. But there is a reason for the saying, “Love is blind.” Insulting guys by calling them idiots just adds insult to injury. Guessing you don’t care, which is the reason for your careless words. But try to go easy, mate. No matter how it happens, foolish or not, no one appreciates being lied to or used, especially when it comes to the investment of their time, money, trust and love -peace out.
I learned this the hard way. Thankfully, I didn’t send money. As soon as she, Kat at the K&S Bar in Sukhumviet 4 near Nana Plaza, told me she had a guy in California who was too old for her, but sending her money, I started asking questions. She became very hostile and defensive. But, I admit, after staying with her at her condo many nights and meeting some of her family, I broke the cardinal rule and fell for her. She talked about a future, taking me to Issan to meet her parents. She was the most accommodating woman I have ever had the privilege to be with. I’m from Isaan as well. I don’t think that it’s only Isaan girls if they want your money it could be every parts of Thailand. Why Most people talked about Isaan girls because Isaan is the biggest part and that’s why most people always meet Isaan girls in every parts of Thailand.
